GATE Cutoff 2019 - IIT Madras will issue the qualifying GATE cutoff along with the declaration of result on 16 March 2019. GATE 2019 cutoff is the minimum marks that candidates have to obtain in the entrance test to get shortlisted for further admission and recruitment process. Only qualified candidates will be able to download their GATE scorecard. The GATE cutoff will be different for different subjects and category. Candidates who will qualify the GATE 2019 with the minimum cutoff marks will be able to apply for M.Tech courses, offered by IITs, NITs, and other engineering institutes. Candidates should note that every institute will also release the admission GATE cutoff to shortlist eligible candidates. Qualifying GATE 2019 is the eligibility criteria for applying to M.Tech programmes only. GATE Qualifying Cutoff Vs Admission Cutoff

Candidates often confuse GATE qualifying cutoff with admission cutoff however, they both are separate as the qualifying cutoff marks is the eligibility criteria to apply for a particular institute or PSU recruitment while the admission cutoff is released by the institute to offer admission in a particular course. Even, the factors used to deduce these GATE cutoffs are also distinct. Refer to below section to have better clarity on GATE qualifying cutoff and admission cutoff

GATE Qualifying Cutoff Marks

  • The qualifying cutoff will be released by IIT Madras
  • Qualifying cutoff will depend on Candidate’s performance in the GATE 2019, candidate’s category, difficulty level of GATE, Previous cutoff trends

  • Every institute will release their own GATE admission cutoff
  • Admission cutoff will depend on number of seats available, number of candidates applied, reputation of the institute, category of the candidates, etc.
  • It will be used for only admission purposes.

GATE Cutoff 2019

IIT Madras will release the final GATE 2019 cutoff along with the declaration of result. Candidates will have to log in to their account to check their scores and GATE cutoff 2019 marks. Both result and cutoff will be made available on the official website of GATE 2019. Candidates can refer the below section to check the previous year’s GATE cutoff marks.
