JEE Main Result 2019- National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the result of JEE Main 2019 January Test in the first week of February 2019. Candidates will be able to access the JEE main 2019 result from the official website of NTA, http://nta.ac.in as the result will be declared in online mode only. JEE Main 2019 January examination will be conducted from 6 January to 20 January 2019. Candidates should have their roll number and date of birth details in order to check the JEE Main 2019 scores. The result of JEE Main 2019 will contain the section-wise marks, total marks, all India rank and category-wise rank of the candidates. All engineering colleges/ institutes including NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs accepts JEE Main 2019 scores to offer admission in UG engineering courses. Joint Entrance Examination (main) is also a qualifying examination for JEE Advanced 2019, to be held for admission in IITs. Top 2,40,000 JEE main qualifiers will be able allowed to take JEE Advanced examination.

Unlike last year, JEE Main 2019 will be held twice a year by NTA. Candidates who won’t get satisfying marks in January Test can appear in April test. Additionally, the exam will be conducted in online mode only. The further details related to the admission process, schedule and others will be released along with the official notification in September 2018.

How to check JEE Main 2019 Result Online?

To check the result of Joint Entrance Examination, candidates have to follow the below mentioned steps-

  • Either go to the main website of NTA or click on the above-provided result link (to be updated after the official declaration)
  • After clicking the link, a login page will appear wherein candidates have to enter the JEE Main roll number and date of birth. Make sure all the details are correct.
  • Now, click on the “Submit” tab to check the result details.

Candidates have to download the JEE Main 2019 result copy and keep a print copy safe till the completion of admission process as candidates may need the same during the counselling process.

Details mentioned in JEE Main Result 2019

The result or scorecard of JEE Main 2019 will provide the following details-

  • Name & Roll number of the candidate
  • Date of birth, category and nationality
  • Name of the candidate’s parents
  • State code of eligibility
  • Subject-wise and total marks
  • All India rank (AIR) and Category Rank
  • Qualifying Status and cut off marks for JEE Advanced 2019

How to calculate JEE Main Result 2019 by using answer keys?

Candidates can calculate their JEE Main 2019 marks with the help of the answer keys, to be issued within 02 weeks after completion of exam. With the JEE Main answer keys, NTA will release candidate’s OMR sheets as well. To calculate the scores, candidates have to follow the marking scheme.

JEE Main 2019 Marking Scheme

  • Add +4 marks for each correct answer
  • Subtract -1 for each incorrect answer.

Calculate the total number of correct answers by matching your marked responses from OMR sheet to correct answers available in answer keys. Refer the given formula to get the total scores.

Total positive marks = (Total number of correct answers) x 4

Total negative marks = (Total number of incorrect answers) x 1

Total JEE Main Score = Total positive marks – Total negative marks

 

Tie-Breaking Method

If two or more candidates obtain same marks, then below mentioned process of tie-breaking will be determined to award a unique JEE Main AIR.

Tie-Breaking Process for B.Tech courses

  • The candidate having higher marks in mathematics will be ranked higher
  • If the tie remains, then candidates with higher marks in physics will be placed higher in the rank list.
  • After the process, if the tie still persists, then the ratio of positive and negative marks will be determined. The candidate having the higher absolute value will be ranked higher
  • In the end, if the tie still remain then the same rank will be awarded.

Tie-Breaking Process for B.Arch/B. Planning courses

  • In paper 2, candidates having higher marks in Aptitude test will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie persists, then the marks of drawing paper will be considered. Candidate will receive higher rank with higher marks
  • If tie still persists, the ratio of positive and negative marks will be consider and candidates with higher ratio will be ranked higher
  • In the end, candidates with a tie will receive the same rank

JEE Main 2019 Cut off

To qualify the test, candidates have to obtain a minimum cut off marks. JEE Main 2019 cut off will be released along with the result. Candidates who will meet the qualifying cut off marks will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2019. There are various factors that will be considered to create the final cut off such as number of candidates appeared in the JEE Main 2019, a total number of seats and past trends.
