National Aptitude Test in Architecture, commonly known as NATA, is an undergraduate entrance examination, which is conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA). The COA conducts NATA exam every year in order to evaluate students for architectural courses in India. NATA is an all India level examination, which is held in the month of April every year. Candidates willing to pursue 5-year architecture programme in the prestigious colleges in India are required to qualify for the NATA exam. All the architecture colleges in India, be it private, government or aided, consider NATA scores to assess students for their architectural courses.
Like every other year, NATA 2019 will be held in the last week of April. The COA takes around one month to announce the NATA results. Thus, the result of the same will be declared by the first week of June 2019. Candidate waiting for their NATA 2019 Results can follow these simple steps to check their results.
In order to check your NATA 2019 result, you need to visit the official website of NATA 2019 viz.: www.nata.in.
After visiting the official website, you need to log in to the NATA portal using the login credentials that you created while filling up your NATA 2019 application form.
As soon as you log in to your portal, your NATA result 2019 will be displayed on your computer/ mobile screen.
It is recommended that you download your NATA results and take a printout of it for future references.
Besides, the COA will upload your response sheet for Part A examination within a week of NATA 2019 exam date. Here, you can check your subject-wise secured marks of NATA Part A.
Candidates will not be allowed to review their NATA Part B i.e. Drawing Test sheet. In addition, there is no such provision to apply for the exam rechecking or scrutiny after the declaration of your NATA 2019 result.
You must note that NATA 2019 exam scores will only be valid for taking admission in the academic session 2019-20.
Apart from that, you must note that NATA will not conduct any type of counselling for providing admission to architecture courses through NATA exam. Instead, each college will conduct individual counselling to select students for their architecture programmes. Hence, along with the NATA 2019 scores, you need to satisfy the admission criteria for the particular colleges you are applying in.
Once you get your NATA 2019 scorecard, you need to apply for the colleges of your preference separately. Such colleges, then, will select candidates based on their NATA 2019 marks and academic performance.
Though the B.Arch admission criteria through NATA 2019 are based on the institutes/ universities you want to take admission in, however, the basic criteria you must satisfy are as follows:
You need to have the valid NATA 2019 scores.
You must have studied 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as the main subjects from a recognised education board in India.
You must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level. The percentage criteria, however, vary from college to college.
Like the admission criteria, the requirement of documents may also vary from college to college. However, there are some common documents you must produce at the time of NATA Counselling 2019.
In order to qualify for the NATA 2019 exam, you must secure a minimum of 25% marks in the Part A section. This means you need to have at least 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) correct out of the total 120 questions.
Even for Part B, you must secure a minimum of 25% marks in the Drawing Test. Though here, you will need to secure 20 marks out of the total of 80 marks.
The overall qualifying marks will be decided by the NATA exam authority namely COA, considering all the post-exam statistics.
