The National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT) prescribes the NCHM JEE Syllabus and Exam Pattern annually. Though the fundamentals of the NCHM JEE Exam Pattern and Syllabus largely remain the same as previous years, however, students may expect some slight changes in the exam syllabus. NCHMT JEE is a pen-paper based exam that comprises of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). You will be given 180 minutes to answer all the questions. NCHM JEE 2019 exam will be conducted in English and Hindi languages. There will be negative marking in NCHM JEE 2019 exam. For each correct answer, you will be awarded one mark while for each incorrect answer, ¼ marks will be deducted from your total scores.

How to Prepare NCHM JEE 2019?

Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude

There will be 30 questions in the Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude. Questions asked in this section will evaluate the fundamentals of Mathematics and Science. The best way to master this section is to pick up your NCERT books of Class 9th and 10th as the large proportion of this section will be based on the 9th and 10th NCERT books. The common questions asked in this section will cover the topics such as the number system, profit & loss, percentage & average, simple interest, time-work, time-speed-distance and other geometrical topics. Apart from that, this section will also comprise of theoretical questions related to basic science.

Reasoning and Logical Deduction

The Reasoning and Logical Deduction section will also have 30 questions. Questions asked in this segment will be based on the blood relations, codes, mathematical operations, Venn diagram, data sufficiency, completion of series and data interpretation etc. This section requires a lot of practice as you need to be faster while attempting this section. Besides, you must be proficient in squares and cubes to cut the time consumption while taking questions in this section.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs

The General Knowledge and Current Affairs section will have 30 questions that will cover everything from prizes and winners to fashion events, famous personalities, inventions and discoveries, sports books and authors, currencies, earth, solar system, languages, world organisations and what not. If not everything, you must be updated with the current happenings in these areas to tackle this section. You should take as many GK quizzes on the internet and other resources. Reading newspaper daily is among the best way to keep updated with the current affairs and latest happenings.

English Language

The English section is one the most scoring sections in NCHM JEE 2019 as it will have 60 questions covering basic topics of English language such as the correction of spelling mistakes, sentence improvement, synonyms and antonyms, analogies, one word substitution, paragraph completion, sentence formation, sentence reconstruction and vocabulary etc. if your base is clear, you can easily score good marks within no time. And if not, you may refer to some great English books such as the Wren & Martin’s English Grammar and Norman Lewis’s Word Power Made Easy etc. Increase your vocabulary by learning new words and their usage on a daily basis. Also, solve online sample papers to increase your question tackling speed.

Aptitude for Service Sector

Since the NCHM JEE 2019 for an enrolling into the hospitality sector, you must possess the interpersonal skills in order to do well in the job profile. Hence, we can’t neglect the fact that you must have the basic skills and aptitude that are required to make a great career out of it.
