Saumya Gupta is a 12th Grader in India.
The pandemic changed the course of her high school career.
She moved back home from a boarding school, to attend a school in Patiala, Punjab, India.
With her movements restricted and interactions online, she found herself changing in surprising ways.
Saumya joined an NGO called Saathi, which she may not have joined, had the world stayed normal.
She engaged in a lot of public speaking, something she had shied away from.
Always a bit reserved, she found herself communicating with her peers over text messages and participating in group chats.
Pandemic may have made things virtual, but it helped Saumya find her real voice.
