Coimbatore Institute of Technology was founded by V. Rangaswamy Naidu Educational Trust with the noble aim of disseminating knowledge in the fields of science, engineering and technology to the student community. CIT is a Government-aided institution, recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education.It is affiliated to Anna University. The Institute was granted autonomous status in the year 1987 and is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation.
