Government College Of Technology (GCT), Coimbatore was started functioning from the year 1945 with two UG programmes B.E.- Civil Engg. & B.E. – EEE but later college added more disciplines in its programmes. In ersthwhile college was siuated in Peelamedu and recognized as an Arthur Hope College of Technology but in 1950 GCT shifted to the present campus at Thadagam Road and in 1951 they renamed as Government College of Technology (GCT), which is an autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University. The objective of the college is to produce a breed of creative minds who can use their imagination in developing new products & machines for the mankind.
