Indian Institute of Technology, Indore

Indian Institute of Technology, Indore (IIT Indore or IITI) is located in Simrol, Madhya Pradesh. It is an autonomous statutory organization and one of the new IITs established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The Institute was founded in 2009 and for some time it was functioning in its temporary at Institute of Engineering and Technology of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya under the mentorship of IIT Bombay. IIT Indore ranks 15^th overall amongst all engineering universities and institutions in the country and 5^th ranking teaching and resource category.

IIT Indore offers specializations in various courses, namely, B.Tech (4 years), M.Tech (2 years), M.Sc. (2 years), Five Year B.Tech + M.Tech and PhD. Specializations like Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering and Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biotechnology and many more are offered by the institute.

IITI has three academic schools with over seventy faculty members. The three schools are:

• School of Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics)
• School of Engineering (Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering)
• School of Humanities and Social Sciences (English, Economics, Philosophy and Psychology

1st-year B.Tech at IIT Indore has common sub-courses for every discipline. 

IIT Indore follows same admission process as other IITs. There are more than 90% placements every year.

IIT Indore boasts of its new campus and well-equipped infrastructure. The institute has various labs within the campus including a central library. Several decent instruments/facilities are provided to the students like Nuclear Magnetic resonance spectrometer, CAD Tools for Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI) Design, Single crystal X-ray diffractometer, etc. 

IIT Indore also organizes an annual techno-cultural fest, which consists of various activities like competitions, informal events, professional performances, workshops, etc. 

IIT Indore provides FFE (foundation for excellence ) Scholarships on the basis of criteria-             

• Only for BE / B.Tech/Integrated M. Tech students currently in 1st year. I
•  12 percentage – 70% and above
•  JEE Advanced Marks: 152  and combined family income less than 1.80lacs. 

Institute provides Merit Cum Scholarships.
