Transitioning to any new country and culture will be hard at first but most universities are aware of this transition and have resources to help you cope. Your marks and achievements will continue to be important but beyond that, you can integrate with this new community by talking to people and joining organizations. I have never personally faced discrimination as an Indian student and if you do, the university will always provide avenues to help you deal with it.
