Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Computer Science is a degree offered by the College of Arts and Science in a university. It requires students to take fewer courses to graduate compared to the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science degree which is offered by the College of Engineering in a university. Also, the acceptance rate for BA Computer Science is higher compared to BS Computer Science. BA CS is more theoretical than BS CS. Thus, most companies prefer hiring BS CS graduates. Universities like Cornell University mandate students to submit the SAT Subject Tests if they are applying for BS CS, whilst it is optional for those who apply for BA CS.
