Not really. I don't think there are any schools that have a specific community service requirement (other than certain specific programmes perhaps). However, many colleges do appreciate community service as part of your overall profile.

It depends on whether the university's financial aid policy is need blind or aware. If they're need blind then there should be no effect on admission. However, if they are need aware then it definitely has some bearing on the acceptance rate.
